Standing 20 stories tall with a floor space of approximately 60,000 square meters, The Ritz Carlton Hotel Amman brings together legendary service and opulent design in the center of one of the middle east’s most exciting cities. It features several specialty restaurants, such as a rooftop lounge, and the hotel houses numerous other outlets, including a cocktail bar, an indoor garden café, and retail shops. The property also boasts a fitness center, indoor pool, signature spa, outdoor swimming pool, and garden. Beyond the hotel, the property also features a stunning 20-story residential tower called The Residences.

the challenge

The Ritz Carlton was looking for ways to make the hotel experience and technology simple, easy, and uplifting. The property consists of 228 guest rooms, 34 of which are distinct suite types that required thoughtful planning to set the standards for this prestigious project, and 90 spacious, private homes. The experience needed to include high-end AV, background music, lighting, and shading control in both the hotel and residences, as well as additional indoor and outdoor lighting in both towers.

Al Eqbal Real Estate selected Luminus Technology as their partner due to the team’s extensive experience in five-star hotels and mega projects in the region. Luminus Technology reshaped the existing systems using Crestron solutions to create an iconic property fully equipped with the latest solutions available.

the technology

The residents of The Residences can all enjoy the convenience and bespoke luxury of a Crestron smart home system. Residents can control lighting, air conditioning, and curtains, as well as the built-in speakers, whether they are home or away. Peace of mind is a click away with their preinstalled smart home system. Installation options include pre-programmed smart scenes for the entire home, including “All On” and “All Off” commands and programming of custom presets to create the perfect ambiance for any event – from “Party” to “Relax.” Elegant Horizon® keypads combine custom control with a superior button feel and designer aesthetics that complement any décor.

Each home is wired to support motorized shades for all window locations and world-class Crestron DigitalMedia™ 4K video distribution and control technology. Each home also offers support for the addition of Crestron in-ceiling speakers, wireless audio, voice commands, and unlimited personalization.

This means that residents can add audio, video, and other features to their Crestron system without needing to open walls, run external wires, or place cable boxes and other bulky electronic equipment in every room.

Crestron DigitalMedia™ content distribution routes AV signals throughout the project between different indoor and outdoor hotel venues. This can be done quickly and with a simple touch using any Crestron touch screen or Horizon Keypad. Crestron AirMedia® wireless presentation and conferencing systems make it easy to connect and present for everyone in the various event spaces the Ritz Carlton offers. Lighting control in both towers is handled with Crestron DIN Rail Solutions, while a Crestron® Control System covers the overall AV control.

Scheduling and controlling every lighting fixture and circuit in public areas was another critical aspect of this project. Through more than 100 lighting panels, the property utilizes most lighting control types from 0-10V and DALI® to Phase-dim and DMX modules to illuminate the beautifully designed façade lights for the hotel and each residence.
