MPC4-201-B

4-Series® Media Presentation Controller 201

A wall-mounted, PoE-powered 4-Series Control System® automated processor and control panel in one. Features a modern appearance with customizable backlit capacitive buttons. Mounts in a 1-gang European electrical box or tabletop enclosure. A 2-gang US wall mounting option is also available.

The 4-Series® Media Presentation Controller 201 (MPC4-201-B) is a wall-mounted, PoE-powered 4-Series® Control System automated processor and control panel in one.  Its customizable backlit capacitive buttons provide an ideal user interface for controlling AV and other functions. It offers fully-programmable functionality, supports web and cloud-based configuration and management, and integrates with Crestron Fusion® software as part of a complete managed enterprise solution.

Crestron® MPC4 series controllers are perfect for classrooms, meeting rooms, lecture halls, and training facilities. Use the MPC4-201-B to control a video display or AV system, adjust lighting and window shades, or any other custom application.

Customizable Backlit Capacitive Buttons
The MPC4-201-B features six backlit capacitive buttons, which can each be labeled using the icon chips provided, or custom labeled using laser-engravable chips (MPB3/MPC3-BTN3-B ENGRAVED, sold separately). Each button is backlit blue when active, and white when inactive to provide clear indication of what media source or lighting scene is currently selected. Four additional buttons are included at the bottom along with a volume gauge for control of volume, mute, and power.

All buttons on the MPC4-201-B are custom programmable to control any device or function. Built-in proximity sensing wakes the buttons as you approach, and Autobrightness control maintains optimal visibility of the buttons under varying lighting conditions.

No Rack Required
The MPC4-201-B encapsulates the industry’s best control technologies in one compact wall mount device. High‑speed Ethernet provides the essential interface for connecting to the building network and controlling Crestron AV switchers, audio processors, and other IP controllable equipment. Expanded connectivity is available using a DIN-CENCN-2 or DIN-CENCN-2-POE Ethernet to Cresnet® bridge, CEN-GWEXER or CENI-GWEXER infiNET EX® wireless gateway, or CEN-IO-COM-102, CEN-IO-DIGIN-104, CEN-IO-IR-104, or CEN-IO-RY-104 wired Ethernet module.

4-Series® Control Engine
4-Series control systems come equipped with an upgraded multicore CPU, delivering a sizable speed and performance increase compared to all Crestron 3-Series® control processors. The improved performance allows 4-Series control systems to handle the increasing demands of an advanced automated system. Crestron 4-Series delivers a dynamic and secure control system platform capable of managing a room full of disparate technologies. Reliable networking and IP control afford seamless integration with other systems and devices, with add-on control capability using Crestron touch screens, wireless remotes, and mobile device apps, as well as remote management through Crestron Fusion® software and the XiO Cloud® service.

No Programming Required
Built‑in .AV Framework™ software technology delivers a fully functional AV presentation system with simplified web‑based configuration and a choice of control options and add‑ons. For complete details on the capabilities supported by .AV Framework, visit www.crestron.com/avframework.

Crestron Fusion Room Monitoring and Scheduling
Crestron Fusion provides an integrated platform for creating truly smart buildings that save energy and enhance worker productivity. As part of a complete managed network in a corporate enterprise, college campus, convention center, or any other facility, the MPC4-201-B works with Crestron Fusion to enable remote scheduling, monitoring, and control of rooms and technology from a central help desk or mobile app. It also enables organizations to reduce energy consumption by tracking real-time usage and automating control of AV, lighting, shades, and HVAC. For more information about Crestron Fusion, visit www.crestron.com/fusion.

XiO Cloud Provisioning and Management
4-Series control systems leverage the power and flexibility of XiO Cloud services, enabling users to remotely provision, monitor, and manage Crestron devices across an enterprise network. XiO Cloud can be used to configure and load programs to the control system before it is received, making the control system fully functional as soon as it is connected to the network. XiO Cloud is built on the Microsoft® Azure® software platform and utilizes Microsoft's industry leading Azure IoT Hub technology. XiO Cloud enables installers and IT managers to deploy and manage thousands of devices simultaneously. Unlike other virtual machine based cloud solutions, Azure services provide unlimited scalability to suit the ever growing needs of an enterprise. For more information, visit www.crestron.com/xiocloud.

Enterprise-Grade Security
The MPC4-201-B is an enterprise-class control processor that can be deployed across hundreds of spaces and set up easily using a web browser, toolbox software, Crestron Fusion, or XiO Cloud. It employs standard network security protocols, including 802.1X network access control, Active Directory® software authentication, SSH, TLS, and HTTPS, to ensure reliability and compliance with your organization’s IT policies.

SNMP V3 Support
Built-in SNMP V3 support enables integration with third-party IT management software, allowing network administrators to manage and control Crestron systems on the network in an IT-friendly format.

Power over Ethernet
Using PoE technology, the MPC4-201-B gets its operating power directly through the LAN wiring. PoE (Power over Ethernet) eliminates the need for a local power supply or any dedicated power wiring. A PoE Injector (PWE-4803RU) simply connects in line with the LAN cable at any convenient location. Crestron PoE switches (CEN-SWPOE-10 or CEN-SWPOE-26) may also be used to provide a total networking solution with built-in PoE. All PoE injectors and switches are sold separately.

Wall Mount Installation
The MPC4-201-B is designed to be flush-mounted in a wall using a 1-gang European electrical box (not included), and made to easily replace an existing MPC3 Series Media Presentation Controller. It can also be installed in a lectern or podium with no back box. Using the optional retrofit mounting bracket (MPC3-101/102/201-RMB, sold separately), the MPC4-201-B can be installed in a 2-gang U.S. electrical box. Once installed, the button labels can be changed at any time by simply removing the front cover. A security screw is included to prevent unauthorized removal.

Tabletop Option
Using the optional Tabletop Kit (MPC3/MPB3‑TTK‑SQR‑B sold separately), the MPC4-201-B becomes a stylish, freestanding controller that fits perfectly on a table, desk, or countertop.

Third-Party Mounting Solution
The MPC4-201-B is also compatible with Wall‑Smart® retrofit mount products via a partnership with Crestron.
