Guidebar Technology
The DVPHD with guidebar technology offers a slick and powerful presentation solution, providing separate outputs for a presenter's touchpanel and up to three audience displays.* All outputs display the same full-resolution HD image, while only the presenter sees the "guidebar" containing touchscreen controls for AV, lighting, annotation, and any other desired functions. Guidebar technology works by allowing the use of displays with different resolutions, allocating the "extra" pixels on the higher-resolution display for the guidebar. For instance, using an audience display with 1920 x 1080 pixels and a presenter's touchpanel with 1920 x 1200 pixels provides an area 120 pixel high across the top or bottom of the presenter's screen for the guidebar. Just like any Crestron touchpanel, the guidebar is completely customizable for any appearance or functionality.
Multi-Window Video Processor
The DVPHD displays up to 8 simultaneous, full-motion video windows† on any high-resolution monitor, projector, or flat panel display. The video windows can be displayed on screen in any combination within a fully-customizable graphic environment, with enhanced dynamic text capabilities for labeling each window, and alluring transition effects to add flow and vibe to the whole display environment. Each window is fully-scalable and independently controllable, allowing for display at any position, size, or aspect ratio.
Multi-Format Support
The DVPHD is factory-configurable* to accommodate a full range of input signal types. Its modular design allows the selection of any of 5 different input cards, with one or two inputs per card, in up to 4 card slots. Available inputs include DVI-I, multi-format BNC video, SDI, and Crestron QuickMedia®. The DVI-I inputs support DVI, HDMI‡, and DisplayPort Multimode‡ digital video sources with HDCP content protection, as well as analog RGB and component sources‡, at resolutions up to HD 1080p60 and WUXGA 1920 x 1200§. The multi-format BNC video inputs accept analog signals from component HDTV sources up to 1080i, as well as standard definition NTSC/PAL composite and S-Video. The SDI inputs support SDI and HD-SDI digital sources up to 1080p30. QuickMedia inputs enable direct interface with our full line of QuickMedia distribution products.

Through a single DVI-I output connector, the DVPHD provides both digital and analog video outputs for use with displays having DVI, HDMI, or RGB inputs.** Any progressive resolution up to 1920 x 1200 pixels is allowed§, with an incredible 125 pre-defined "standard" resolutions, and the ability to define additional custom resolutions. Interlaced 1080i output is also supported through DVI or HDMI.
100% HDCP Compliance
The Crestron DVPHD is the only multi-window video processor of its kind that handles HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), ensuring full compliance with a complete range of digital video players, cable and satellite receivers, multimedia computers, displays, and projectors. While other video processors ignore HDCP completely, the DVPHD actually performs advanced HDCP signal management, allowing up to four HDCP encrypted sources to be combined on screen along with non-HDCP sources, custom graphics, and live annotation, all viewable in full high-definition on up to 4 HDCP compliant displays.
As the move to digital takes hold, more and more movie studios and television service providers are using HDCP to protect their DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, broadcast signals, and online content against unauthorized copying. Analog connectivity, which can't support HDCP, is already being eliminated from the computers and AV equipment being sold today, and soon content providers will be taking full advantage of the new digital technology to ensure only authorized users are able to view their content in all its high-definition glory. Without HDCP, you'll be limited to viewing standard low-res video if you're luckyor no image at all.
QuickSwitch HD Technology
Crestron exclusive QuickSwitch HD technology eliminates the annoying switching latency that plagues other digital video processors and switchers. Viewing HDCP encrypted content involves a complicated process of handshaking and authentication between all the sources, processors, and displays in the system before an output signal can be delivered. This process normally occurs every time a signal is switched, causing a complete loss of signal for up to 15 seconds whenever a new source is selected. QuickSwitch HD technology alleviates this issue by maintaining a constant HDCP connection with each device in the system, eliminating the need to re-authenticate each time a different source is selected, providing smooth, uninterrupted transitions between HD sources.
Advanced Image Processing
Whether displaying a single full-screen image, or multiple windows with graphics, the DVPHD scales its output perfectly to match the native resolution and aspect ratio of your high-definition display. Featuring Gennum Visual Excellence Processing with TruMotionHD fully adaptive deinterlacing, the DVPHD achieves exceptional image sharpness and resolution from SDTV, HDTV, and computer sources. RealityExpansion 10-bit image processing employing FidelityEngine image enhancement delivers astounding realism and detail. FineEdge dynamic directional interpolation eliminates the jaggy artifacts typical of traditional deinterlacing algorithms.
Crestron Isys® Graphics
The DVPHD includes our 24-bit Isys graphics engine, allowing for the creation of stunning graphics using DNav dynamic menu objects, dynamic graphics and text, crawling text, pop-up windows, animations, multimode objects, PNG translucency, and exclusive Synapse image rendering. Advanced antialiasing delivers crisp, sharp objects and text, while enhanced 3D effects add alluring depth and style. The position and appearance of the video windows within the graphical environment can be fully customized with the ability to apply digital transition effects for a dynamic look and feel.
Touchpanel Interface
The DVPHD can transform a third-party touchscreen monitor, pen display, whiteboard, or touch-enabled flat panel display into a full-featured, large-scale Crestron touchpanel.†† This opens a host of possibilities for special control and presentation applications such as interactive kiosks, museum and tradeshow exhibits, training rooms, and command centers. As an alternative to touchscreen, its graphical interface can also be navigated using an onscreen cursor driven by a wired or wireless mouse, or by discrete commands from a separate touchpanel, computer, keypad, or handheld remote.
HD Annotation Processor
There is only one solution for enabling real-time annotation over high-definition digital videothe DVPHD from Crestron! High-definition annotation capability allows presenters to write or draw over live computer and full-motion HD video images in up to 8 separate windows using a touchpanel or mouse. Moving images can be frozen on screen to allow annotation over a still picture. Brush sizes and colors are selectable on the fly via a customizable annotation menu.
Interactive Annotation
Crestron Remote Annotation capability allows up to 90 individual touchpanel users to draw over the same image, supporting interactive annotation between multiple participants in a courtroom, classroom, council chamber, or operating room.
Auto-Configuration
When installing a DVPHD, configuring its inputs and outputs is simplified using sync-detection for analog RGB and video sources, and EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) for HDMI and DVI digital sources and displays. The DVPHD configures itself automatically to match the format, resolution, and scan rate of each input source and display device to achieve the optimum quality from every component. There are also manual adjustments provided to allow extensive fine adjustment of every input and output.
Multiple Setup Options
Whether testing a new install or setting up for final operation, the DVPHD provides several easy methods for accessing all the essential setup controls and settings. On-screen setup is available right from the main output, navigable using a touchscreen or mouse. Or, the onboard Web server allows for secure setup and operation from any location using an ordinary Web browser on any networked computer. Setup can even be attained right from the front panel using the large LCD display. Right out of the box, the DVPHD provides several display scenarios to choose from, with the ability to define a fully-working setup in minutes. Built-in test patterns even eliminate the need for an external pattern generator for proper display calibration. Advanced functionality and appearance is afforded through custom programming using the Crestron suite of software solutions.
