        Denver's Largest Dome

        The 1,600-seat sanctuary in the clouds known as Mile Hi Church not only doubled its capacity by becoming the largest domed building in Denver, Colorado, it has also achieved what some might call a technological upgrade of miraculous proportions. The church now includes web-casting and broadcast capabilities, AV distribution to the old sanctuary, a digital mixing console and projection screens - all controlled by Crestron.

        On the Road Again

        Liberty's first luxury motorcoach was built for the Florida Marlins in 2000 and only a few years later the team won the World Series - coincidence? Soon after requests came from residential Crestron customers for the company to craft a luxury motorcoach with the same great automation features. With about only 320-square feet to work with, his road masters now feature a full regimen of power systems, lighting, shading, HVAC, entertainment and mechanical systems. Plus, unlike residential applications, the coaches are equipped with full monitoring support of generators, fluid levels and navigation systems. With all this technology on the road, there truly is no place like home!

        Texas-Sized Teamwork

        The Crestron installation at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter ballroom integrated all HVAC, AV, lighting and signage systems into an easy-to-use and intuitive control system. Despite a narrow timetable and a total renovation of the 42,000-square-foot ballroom, Crestron delivered control solutions for sound and lighting as well as the routine transformation of the huge ballroom into 12 separate ballroom "salons."

        Thanks to an enhanced, Crestron-automated entertainment system, Jack Astor's Bar and Grill in downtown Toronto is now in total control of over 70 LCD screens, including a set of 46-inch video ribbons and 60 speakers. A mere press of the Crestron touchpanel brings the facility to life, as do the two waterproof remote control devices for the bar area. The easily-operated Crestron interface also empowers the user to routinely control both 'LCD Chandeliers,' each with 12 with differently sized screens for up to 12 different display choices, and the 3'x3' 'videowall' containing five 40-inch displays.

        Unconventional Convention Center

        Crestron is at the technological epicenter of the Washington National, the newest Gaylord Entertainment hotel resort in Washington, D.C. Now the largest non-casino hotel and convention center on the eastern seaboard, it is infused with state-of-the-art AV amenities. Crestron systems control the center's 2,000 rooms as well as 650,000 square feet of convention, conference and exhibit space. Crestron-integrated provisions include sound-reinforcement systems, hi-tech audio and video systems, videoconferencing capabilities and stage lighting.

Carter's discussion on the choice of HDMI in the British and American markets is underscored by the fact that the most recent features are supported only by HDMI - and will never be offered in analog. Despite individual-issue complaints from the field regarding HDMI, in the long run, as Carter points out, HDMI issues can be overcome by pre-planning, including smarter system switches and installation by qualified HDMI professionals.
