Crestron RL 2 codec is centerpiece of unified communications solutions featuring Skype® for Business conferencing, DM® input, analog microphone inputs, and content video auto-switching
Crestron’s unified communication solutions are now more powerful and flexible than ever. The company’s second generation Skype® for Business conferencing system has just arrived in a new integration-friendly kit and packages that provide all the equipment you need to build a best-in-class collaboration experience. Crestron is demonstrating this solution at booth 2801 at InfoComm15 in Orlando, June 17 – 19.
Powerful new unified communications codec
The unified communications solution boasts a number of exciting new features based on the Crestron RL 2 codec including a fully integrated DigitalMedia receiver, native Crestron Fusion® connectivity for room monitoring, multiple audio input configurations, and versatile mounting options. It also comes with Crestron’s award-winning TSW-style touch screen controller. Simply add the optional custom elements required for your application: display, camera, microphone, and speakers. You can even add a Crestron enterprise class 3-Series Control System® to open up a whole new world of possibilities.
Crestron’s new codec enables the only Skype for Business group conferencing system that delivers:
Four configurations to choose from
- A single solution for group collaboration and sharing with Skype meeting participants
- Crestron DigitalMedia input, for integration with Crestron’s full suite of remote video transmitters
- Auto-switching between VGA, HDMI®, and DM® video sources without a separate video switcher outside of a Skype for Business session
- Analog microphone inputs for ease of custom installation
- The power to control everything in the room from one touch screen, including AV devices, lighting, and shades
- The ability to integrate with Crestron Fusion® software, to monitor all connected rooms across the enterprise
The Crestron RL 2 codec is the engine that drives four powerful unified communications systems, enabling the requirements for every room type, size, and application to be met. The Integrator Kit provides the codec, touch screen, and rack and under table mounting equipment allowing for custom systems. Packages 1, 2, and 3 are complete, validated, out of the box systems. Package 1 is ideal for huddle and compact work spaces. It includes the Integrator Kit plus a camera, all-in-one speakerphone and optional 32” touch display. Package 2 is perfect for small to medium conference rooms and upgrades the touch display to a single or dual 60” that can be wall mounted or used with a stand. Package 3 is designed to suit the needs of large or extra-large rooms and includes a single or dual 70” or 80” touch display that can be wall mounted or used with a stand.
“We’re excited about the great flexibility that can be offered to our dealers with the Crestron RL 2 codec as the centerpiece of four turnkey systems,” said Joseph Sarrasin, Technology Manager, Unified Communications at Crestron. “The built-in switching capability makes for an even more cost-effective UC solution, eliminating the need for a separate switcher.” Support for Skype for Business
Legacy and current Crestron RL codecs will now support Skype for Business upgrades. Skype for Business brings together the familiar experience of Skype with the security, compliance, and control of Microsoft Lync. In combination with Skype for Business, the Crestron RL 2 codec enables group collaboration between people anywhere, anytime.
“We are pleased to see Crestron deliver UC solutions for Skype for Business to extend the communications experience and connect people everywhere to achieve more, together,” said Giovanni Mezgec, GM, Skype for Business Product Marketing at Microsoft. Learn more
