HD-EXT1-C

HDMI® over Shielded Twisted Pair Extender

Discontinued

This product has been discontinued. Please contact Crestron True Blue Support at 1-888-CRESTRON for a replacement solution or more information.

Provides a very simple and reliable solution for extending uncompressed HDMI and control signals up to 100 meters (330 ft) over a single shielded twisted-pair cable.

This product has been replaced by the HD-EXT3-C.

The Crestron® HDMI over Shielded Twisted Pair Extender (HD-EXT1-C) delivers professional-grade digital HD AV signal extension for use in the home, classroom, auditorium, or corporate boardroom. Without any special setup or configuration, the HD-EXT1-C enables wire runs up to 100 meters (330 feet) over a single, low-cost shielded twisted-pair (STP) cable[1]. It simultaneously handles high-definition digital video and audio, RS-232, and IR signals.

Robust HD Signal Extension

Based on our groundbreaking DigitalMedia 8G technology, Crestron HDMI over STP delivers ultra-reliable extension of uncompressed HDMI signals over any distance up to 100 m (330 ft). Without relying on signal-degrading compression or IP streaming, Crestron HDMI over STP technology transports the full HD signal to your display — intact and uncompromised.

The HD-EXT1-C handles HD video resolutions up to 1080p60, and high-res computer resolutions up to UXGA and WUXGA, with full support for HDCP, 3D, Deep Color, and 7.1 HD audio. It is also compatible with DVI and DisplayPort Multimode sources, and DVI display devices, using appropriate adapters or interface cables[2].

...And Control Too!

In addition to video and audio, the HD-EXT1-C provides for the extension of IR and bidirectional RS-232 control signals for a true one-wire AV interface solution.

Uncompromised and Uncomplicated

Crestron HDMI over STP affords a very dependable signal extension solution that's simple to implement. No special configuration or programming is required — just connect your source and display and enjoy high-quality HD video and audio from across the room — or the other end of the house.

The HD-EXT1-C is composed of one transmitter and one receiver (HD-TX1-C and HD-RX1-C, both included). The transmitter can be mounted in a single-gang wall box, or attached to any flat surface or inside an equipment rack. The compact receiver can be mounted discretely behind a display device or wherever else it needs to go. Linking the two components requires just one run of Crestron DM-CBL-8G shielded twisted-pair cable[1]. Crestron offers the cable, connectors, and crimp tool for a complete, easy wiring solution. A range of professional AV interface cables and wall plates is also available to complement the HD-EXT1-C for a total custom installation solution.
