        Chateau on Central Design Challenge Arizona Showcases Cutting-Edge Home Automation Technology

        Drum roll, please! Interior designer Robert Burg of Robert Burg Design has taken home the win for showcasing jaw-dropping cutting-edge home automation technology use in the Chateau on Central Design Challenge Arizona. For over 20 years, Burg has been recognized for creating beautiful, high end residential and resort style living spaces with a European sensibility for his clients around the world. Burg took home the win for his unique design of the five-story, 5,400 square-foot chateau, integrating the most innovative home automation technology from Crestron Electronics. The decision was announced at a grand reveal party at Chateau on Central in Phoenix, Arizona on February 26, where ticketed guests were invited to tour the properties and vote on their favorite design.

        The Internet superhighway ride will be faster and wider, with more and more apps and opportunities. The Internet of Things, which is enhancing our home lives through interconnectivity, is moving ahead briskly. “As technology continues to accelerate, with smart phones, smart toilets, smart refrigerators, smart lights, smart thermostats, so, too, does the demand for energy,” said Nikal Conti, one of three PHX Architecture principals in Scottsdale. August, for example, was one of the hottest ever in the Valley, and the summerlike weather didn’t end until almost a month after fall began. “Designs in the future will need to reduce power consumption through the use of continually improving glass, insulation, coatings and materials,” she said.
