The NBC Conference Centre is a family-owned facility in Nieuwegein, Netherlands, dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for corporate events. A full-service conference facility with the support of a dedicated team, the NBC Conference Centre has two large event halls and 22 meeting rooms. It is equipped to handle groups of all sizes, from small gatherings of 40 participants to grand conferences for 3,000 guests.

In 2022, a fire devastated the NBC Conference Centre, requiring the facility to be rebuilt. The setback prompted the creation of a new state-of-the-art conference facility for the future of events that would be stronger and more innovative than ever before. Justin van Hooijdonk owner of the NBC Conference Centre, collaborated with internal stakeholders, clients, and trusted partners to create a conferencing powerhouse.

the technology

The NBC Conference Centre offers two expansive event areas, 22 secondary meeting rooms, a hospitality area with natural light, and an atmospheric green garden. Technology played a key role in helping the event space stand out even further, with attributes like the large projection décor in the Netherlands. The venue needed to centralize control to streamline operations, integrate various systems for comprehensive monitoring, and facilitate effortless communication between staff members and guests.

The conference center selected DM NVX® AV-over-IP technology for its delivery of crystal-clear 4K video over standard gigabit networks. The solution provides exceptional image quality and low latency while seamless distribution allows content to be spread throughout the venue, offering synchronization or individualized content for an immersive experience across its various spaces. The DM NVX is future-ready, simplifies the installation process, and reduced costs.

The content distribution throughout the facility allows presentations or multimedia pieces to be displayed effortlessly. The NBC Conference Centre hosts large events regularly, and DM NVX technology can unite these crowds via a unified experience, as camera images from the meeting rooms can be streamed to the other spaces in the case of overflow. The system is flexible and allows personalization of spaces and content to meet the needs of any event. The staff can also access the controls through their mobile devices to make real-time adjustments while an event is underway.

The integrator used Crestron Virtual Control as part of this innovative system to provide centralized management and monitoring capabilities that would enhance efficiency anf future scalability. Staff can prep rooms from the centralized control room where they have access to multiple configurations to get the audio, video, and camera selection just right. The Virtual Control platform’s advanced analytics and reporting features optimize system performance to improve the guest experience. The banquet and technical staff can monitor the rooms and offer prompt assistance to guests when needed. Guests are also able to use the Crestron touch screens in the room for instant control over climate, lighting, and audio to tailor the space to meet their needs.
