The homeowners sought to create a home with unparalleled convenience, security, and entertainment potential while preserving the traditional communal experience of the neighborhood. The technology needed to complement their lifestyle by enhancing their daily routines and leisure activities.

the technology

Crestron Home OS proved to be the best option due to its centralized control over the home’s various environments. Throughout the home, there are sophisticated lighting and climate control systems, advanced security features, and high-quality audio and visual setups designed for entertainment and relaxation. The Crestron Home system can be used to adjust the lighting, shades, and climate control to suit the homeowner’s preferences at different times of the day for daily routines like ‘Good Morning’ and ‘Good Night.’

The home theater uses Crestron DM NX® AV-over-IP technology and Crestron NAX® Audio-over-IP technology, allowing the family to enjoy an immersive experience. The custom, handcrafted Leon Edge Media Frame on the TV matches walnut wood from the family farm, adding a personalized touch. The Crestron DM NVX and DM NAX platforms distribute video and audio throughout the home, which is ideal for entertainment settings. The family also has a record player in a dedicated listening room connected to the DM NAX system.

With the home’s vaulted ceilings, motorized window treatments were installed so the homeowners can easily manage natural light and privacy. The shades add to the homeowners’ sustainable living by letting sunlight in during the winter or keeping the home cool in the summer by closing the shades. One of the most unique additions was the modern “dinner bell” system that allows communication between the main house and the woodworking shop, exemplifying the blend of tradition and innovation.
