the challenge

As experienced smart home proprietors, The Experts had high expectations for performance, reliability, and ease of use. The team needed a powerful platform that could unify complex functionalities into one intuitive interface that would be easy to maintain and upgrade. While it would be a space enjoyed by the family, it needed to double as a high-end showroom, showcasing The Experts’ premium product offerings in a real-world setting.

the solution

Finding the ideal solution that could serve both as a livable system and a powerful demonstration tool required extensive testing and refinement. During the beta phase of the Crestron Home® OS, The Experts were consistently impressed by its performance. They recognized this project as the perfect opportunity to showcase how Crestron Home OS could excel in a complex, real-world environment that truly pushed the boundaries of smart home integration.

the technology

The home was designed to be on par with prospective clients' homes and include all the major features that are typically considered. Featuring modern amenities and aesthetic appeal, the home boasts a large outdoor entertainment area, neutral and cozy living spaces, and a home theater. Crestron Home OS was the perfect fit for this showcase residence, as it is powerful enough for the most demanding residential applications. This home demonstrates how intuitive and easy-to-use Crestron Home platform is by allowing clients to interact with the system and customize the user interfaces to add room names, create scenes, and more.

Crestron Horizon® keypads are utilized throughout the home, programmed to demonstrate the multitude of possible creative functions. The keypads allow basic lighting control, shade and drapery control, entertainment sources, and accent lighting color adjustment. Crestron touch screens have similar control capabilities throughout the home and can be found beside the cozy breakfast nook and in the bedrooms with unobstructed views of the water. Executing commonly used lighting and shading scenes in front of clients on this expansive property eases their minds and helps them find a reliable control solution for their home. The Crestron shades impress many visitors; the motor is so quiet that they don’t notice their simultaneous opening or closing until they are pointed out.

After going through the practical applications of Crestron Home OS, clients are shown the creative use cases of the system. Crestron DM NVX® AV-over-IP and DM NAX® Audio-over-IP technology were used to provide a wide variety of entertainment options throughout every space while allowing for clean, minimalistic installations in each room. The theater and game area includes a bar and entertainment zone, designed for immersive experiences and socializing. The theater has high-end audio-visual technology and acoustically engineered design, offering a realistic cinematic experience.

The rear of the home features expansive outdoor living spaces that seamlessly blend with the natural surroundings. Six outdoor entertainment zones are available with everything from in-ceiling speakers to in-ground subwoofers to fill the entire yard with music. Crestron additionally controls pool and spa features such as bubblers, jets, heating, and lighting. The fire bowls at the end of the pool deck can also be controlled via touch screens or the Crestron Home app. A covered patio with a dining table and chairs provides a comfortable space for outdoor meals and relaxation with waterfront views. A fully equipped outdoor kitchen and bar area features built-in appliances, bar stools, and ambient lighting, making it perfect for hosting guests at sunset. The pool area is a central feature of the home, surrounded by palm trees, lounge chairs, and direct access to the private dock.

"Coconut Point isn’t just a smart home, it’s a showcase of what’s possible when design meets Crestron innovation, delivering performance, elegance, and reliability in every room."
