Collaboration: Working with our Partners for a Better Experience
Meanwhile, Sonos has introduced an authenticated protocol for third-party integrations. While no action is required for Crestron Home OS 4.7 or earlier systems, it’s important to be aware that Sonos may enforce authentication in future updates. To stay current, Crestron has introduced a handy support article to guide dealers through setup for new installations, existing Crestron Home OS systems (both pre- and post-OS 4.7), and SIMPL Windows systems. (Visit the online help article in our knowledge hub here to find out your next steps.)
There’s no urgent action required for Crestron Home OS 4.7 deployment, but we recommend reviewing the Sonos documentation once it’s published to stay ahead of future changes. Again, dealers can use the enhanced demo mode to showcase whole-home music, and be sure to highlight the new integrations and performance improvements to your customers. "We’re staying ahead of the curve with Sonos," said Chase Bouchard, senior product owner of software applications at Crestron. "Dealers won’t need to make changes now, but we’ll ensure you’re ready if and when Sonos enforces authentication."
And that’s not all on the collaboration front: Lighting designers will appreciate the addition of Lutron® Lumaris® fixtures, tape lighting, and linear lighting support, expanding the range of compatible lighting solutions.
"Crestron Home OS 4.7 is about making your job easier and your offering stronger," says Short. "We’re excited to see how dealers use these new tools to deliver even better experiences."
