The Winners of the Crestron Marine Technology Awards 2026

As this year’s Superyacht Technology Show draws to a close in Barcelona, we’re again proud to announce the winners of the Crestron Marine Technology Awards. This annual honor tells both clients and shipyards that our Crestron Marine specialists are doing work that’s genuinely defined as “best in class.”

As we noted when we opened this year’s call for entries:

Marine integration is a notoriously demanding business, and its complexities are ever-expanding. Projects have grown to include incredible AV packages, high-end lighting design, and really “bulletproof” cybersecurity. It’s all for an incredibly demanding clientele, as summed up by one of our Crestron integrators earlier this year: “A customer often doesn’t know what they want until they’re out on the water,” says Dimitrios Kouskoulis, CEO of the marine integrator SSP, a firm based in Greece.

Winners were chosen in four categories:

Crestron judged entries on their overall quality, uniqueness, customer satisfaction, the look and feel of the installation, and how they solved the challenges presented by a particular vessel.

Ultimate Yacht Installation Above 60 Meters

MY Valor by Yacht Intelligence

As the team from Yacht Intelligence tells us, “A yacht is a complex machine — especially one that measures 80 meters — and Crestron manufactures the only system out there that provides a multitude of interfaces and products that cover all we need.”

As the team got their heads around all the functions they’d need to control, the scope of the project began to take shape. Yacht Intelligence started with the processing end of the yacht’s systems and worked outward. “We needed to control over 100 central video devices — and that didn’t take into consideration distribution, in-room control, and so on. Beyond AV, our central system would be required to interface with lights, blinds, integrated lifts, AC, phone system, steward call functions, underwater lights, and more.”

Crestron solutions delivered the needed results, and a notable example was the future-readiness of Crestron DM NVX® AV-over-IP technology. “Crestron’s AV-over-IP system was ideal: it was advanced enough to be ahead of its time, considering that we began designing the engineering of the vessel at the end of 2021 for delivery in 2025,” notes the dealer.

“The result was a system delivered that more than met the client’s expectations. From end user to those at the shipyard, everyone was very pleased, happy, and proud of what was integrated on board this yacht.”

Ultimate Yacht Installation Below 60 Meters

“The owner’s vision was clear for this refit project,” says the dealer. “He wanted to transform this yacht into a fully integrated, future-ready digital environment that matched the standards of a modern luxury residence while maintaining marine-grade reliability.” Because they were brought in at the earliest planning stages, the SMART SAFE PROJECTS team was able to “shape the system from the ground up, rather than adapt to pre-existing constraints.”

“At the core of the installation is a fully custom Crestron ecosystem integrating AV distribution, lighting, climate, shading, and exterior deck control into one seamless interface,” the dealer says. That custom system included a variety of interfaces: “Touch screens and handheld remotes were installed throughout the yacht, and waterproof remotes were placed on exterior decks.”

“We programmed scenes like ‘Guest Arrival,’ ‘Night Mode,’ and ‘Deck Entertainment’ to make operation simple and intuitive. As the project progressed, we added extra features including Wi-Fi 7 coverage for high-speed connectivity, long-distance audio-over-IP, and remote system monitoring.” The owner also asked that some of his legacy audio equipment be integrated into the vessel’s sound system during this refit.

“Each cabin and guest area needed to work independently, but the crew also needed a central control option,” the dealer adds. Crestron solutions filled the bill: “This refit project delivered exactly what the owner wanted.”

Best Design Meets Technology Award

Confidential Project by Videoworks

This honor considers the marriage of a ship’s unique aesthetic and the solutions aboard that vessel: How does the technology blend in? How does it simply disappear where it needs to? For this 100-plus meter yacht (whose name remains confidential), Videoworks had a very specific challenge in addition to the aforementioned factors: “The GUI was to mirror the owner’s primary residence, preserving layout logic, iconography, and interaction behavior, thereby eliminating any learning curve.”

Merging that goal into a superyacht lies at the heart of this project’s award-winning results. “Uniform button placement, scalable portrait/landscape usability, gesture control, and consistent navigation had to be consistent across 100-plus meters of vessel,” explains the dealer.

The details are striking: “Touch panels had to be fanless, silent, and capable of complete blackout sleeping areas. Docking solutions were to integrate seamlessly with the interior design intent. Dynamic source assignment ensures that available content appears automatically without system reloads, while unavailable sources remain invisible, avoiding clutter or confusion.”

The result is a vessel that sets a new standard, according to the Videoworks team — and a yacht that was able to evolve for a future as a charter: “By implementing a full Crestron backbone and integrating a high-end hotel layer across the entire system, she transformed into one of the most sought-after charter yachts in the world.”

Best Entertainment Everywhere Solution

Marine integrations require AV solutions that are available in both social areas and private cabins, from movies to music to sporting events. The winner in this category will have best answered these questions: How is that content delivered? How easy is it to get the media you are looking for to play in any given space? And what kind of quality entertainment experience is delivered to each destination, from dedicated theaters to multi-room audio and video, or from a full nightclub to an outdoor cinema?

For this yacht — the first full Crestron Home® OS system integrated into a vessel in the country of Türkiye — the dealer integrated Crestron DM NVX® AV-over-IP and DM NAX® Audio-over-IP technologies controlled by Black Nova keypads which incorporate Crestron Connected® software, all running on the Crestron Home OS platform. Additionally, the ship is outfitted with Crestron’s marine-grade speakers, ranging from the elegant, small-aperture Ultimate IC3 to the powerful Ultimate IC8.

“The owner demanded simple and frictionless control for all of the yacht’s AV and electrical systems,” says the team at Encore. They delivered: “The shipyard wishes to continue installing these Crestron systems as they continue production of this series of 52-meter yachts, and the owner said he was absolutely stunned by the results.”

“That’s precisely the kind of thing we hear with these projects,” says Daniel Kerkhof, director of Crestron Marine. “Descriptions such as ‘stunning’ really reflect the quality of these award-winning projects, and it’s a real testament to my colleagues at product development, as well as to our Crestron marine integrators.”
