Every Crestron Home® OS update moves the platform forward, often for both the homeowner and the dealer. Some updates add hardware support, while some sharpen the user experience or refine the aesthetics and functionality of the interface.
This one marks a turning point.
With this update — Crestron Home OS 4.11 — Configure Pro software is officially live, and it’s now the primary configuration tool for every Crestron Home OS project, everywhere in the world.
As Crestron’s Senior Director of Product Management for Software Platforms Doug Jacobson noted in a video introducing the platform:
Configure Pro is a clean and modern app built from the ground up that runs natively on Windows and Mac. As a native application, it comes with the responsiveness and the shortcuts you'd expect. For example, you can copy and paste text into and out of the app just about anywhere. And for the places where we expect copying text will be most common, we've added handy shortcut buttons. Abundant hyperlinks make it fast and intuitive to bounce from place to place in the app, or even to jump directly to a web browser to connect to a device's web interface.
Despite being brand new, many aspects of Configure Pro will be familiar to veterans of Crestron Home. It's familiar yet better in every way. A step-by-step process guides you through configuring a new system, ensuring a solid foundation on which to build out the rest of your project.
