Global Call for Entries: The 2025 Crestron Home Technology Awards
Recognizing this year’s best residential Crestron projects in nine categories

Call for Entries: The 2025 Crestron Home Tech Award
Feature: CHTA 2024, Best Lighting Application

One of the expressions of our “True Blue” spirit is our annual global Crestron Home Technology Awards. They’re a great vehicle to shine a light on the incredible projects our dealers around the world deliver, showcasing how they leverage Crestron technology to create extraordinary experiences for their clients. We feel that by celebrating and promoting this work, we’re truly championing our dealers and giving their innovation and craftsmanship the recognition it deserves. It’s another way we’re striving to build — and maintain — our Crestron community.

Once again, we’re asking our dealers to submit their work for these annual awards. If you win, your work will be the focus of a case study featured on the Crestron.com website and social media channels, sent to relevant journalists, and shared by Crestron salespeople across the globe. We’ll also honor your project with a badge for your website and a trophy for your case.

“It’s always gratifying to see the work our Crestron community has done when awards season comes around,” says Georgio Galaris, manager of residential marketing at Crestron. “And choosing the winners is always a difficult task for the judges.”

If you’re looking for inspiration, have a look at last year’s winners. From a modern masterpiece of design in France to an MDU in Sydney Harbour to a sprawling Long Island estate, the projects truly represented “the best of the best.”

Crestron will accept residential projects completed between June 28, 2024 and July 11, 2025, and winners will be honored at CEDIA® Expo in Denver this September. A panel of judges with expertise in Crestron technology installations will determine the honorees in nine categories.

What’s Being Judged

Just like last year, the awards categories include:

  • Ultimate Crestron Home
  • Ultimate Multi-Dwelling Unit
  • Best Design Meets Technology
  • Best Entertainment Everywhere Solution
  • The Health and Wellness Home of the Year
  • Best Use of Crestron Extensions
  • Best Shading Application
  • Best Lighting Application
  • Best Showroom/Demo Space

Each judge will separately score each entry from 0-10 (10 being the highest) based on a combination of the information provided in the awards’ online entry form and the supporting photos and videos for each of the following:

  • Overall quality of entry submission
  • Did the solution solve the challenge?
  • Actual End User satisfaction (in the End User’s own words)
  • Uniqueness
  • Visual score (Review of imagery and videos)

The top-scoring entry in each awards category will be named the winner for that category. Any tying entries will be deemed co-winners. Crestron integrators can enter as many projects as they desire for consideration in the categories we’ve listed above. And, yes, a single submission may be eligible for multiple categories — but it’s important to ensure the text of the submission outlines why your project fits each category you’re entering.

Photos are a Must — and Video is a Plus

The online submission form is designed to walk you through the process — but it’s still imperative that entrants are thorough and thoughtful. Answer each question as completely as you can, and provide all the details you can muster.

Remember: Photos of the entered projects are fundamental to the process — it’s a must that the judging panel can see what they’re grading. Your entry will need to include images no smaller than 300 DPI / 5”x 8” in PNG or JPEG format, complete with photo credits. If professional photography is too time-consuming or cost-prohibitive, smartphone images are acceptable.

If you really want to emphasize just what that smart home can do, including a short video that best showcases your project is incredibly helpful. Please don’t send links to videos, however—those won’t be accepted. Videos no more than five minutes long should be uploaded to the awards site. “We always look forward to honoring these remarkable winning projects at CEDIA Expo,” says Galaris. “It's truly a testament to the incredible talent, creativity, and dedication within our dealer community."

Residential Lighting

Your body runs on a 24-hour cycle called a circadian rhythm. Lighting affects one major aspect of it: your sleep-wake cycle. Replicating natural light provided by the cycles of the sun with artificial light can improve your mood, concentration, creativity, and energy levels, as well as promote better sleep. This can be accomplished using tunable LED light fixtures and technology such as the Crestron SolarSync® photosensor.
