Colors, Transitions, Borders — and Audio
It’s also a snap to change the look of your layout. “You can change the text color, you can change the background transparency, and you can change the background color,” says Dry. “The text overlay feature is very cool. You also have a border that you can call up, so you have the ability to circle one of the windows with a color of your choice as well, and you can change that color, too,” he adds. To change the stream in a window in your layout, you’re not restricted to just a “jump cut,” either: fades, zooms, wipes are just some of the available transitions.
“As for sound, you can call up the audio on any image that's on the screen,” says Dry. (You can also direct the audio to “follow” a border that’s moved from one image to another.) “We also pass multichannel audio — 5.1 surround sound — which is pretty unique to our system,” he adds. “And we found a way to do that all still over that gigabit pipeline.” And, of course, the scalability of DM NVX AV-over-IP is another plus. “You can add as many encoders and decoders as your network can support," adds Dry.
