Expanding the Crestron Home OS Ecosystem: New Drivers

One of the most powerful things about building on Crestron Home® OS isn't just what Crestron makes, it's what the entire ecosystem makes possible. And right now, that ecosystem is delivering unparalleled experiences for the smart home user.

A significant wave of new and updated residential drivers landed this past quarter, combining Crestron's own first-party additions with a substantial contribution from certified third-party developers. The result is one of the largest expansions of compatible devices the residential platform has seen, covering virtually every category that shows up in a high-performance connected home.

First-Party: Crestron's Own New Residential Drivers

Crestron's in-house driver work has focused on areas where integrators need depth and flexibility. The Denon AVR lineup now covers five models — the X2800H, X3800H, X4800H, S970H, and DRA-900H — across both IP and Serial, giving dealers full coverage for new builds and retrofits alike. Three premium soundbars join the library via IP:  the Yamaha® True X® 90A, KEF® XIO, and Bang & Olufsen® Beosound® Premiere. CEC-based support for DirecTV Gemini and a generic cable box rounds out the TV ecosystem. Philips® Hue Bridge Pro adds a clean lighting integration path for one of the most client-recognized smart lighting platforms.

Third Party: Nine Developers, 80-plus Drivers, Every Category

The bigger story — and it's a significant one — is what Crestron's certified developer community has contributed. Across nine development partners, more than 80 new and updated drivers are now available for Crestron Home OS, covering the full breadth of what a residential integrator encounters on any serious project.

The Details

AV Distribution and Switching

Ultamation has delivered comprehensive coverage across the AVPro Edge matrix switching lineup — from the AC-MX42-AUHD all the way to the AC-MX1616-AUHD — alongside the Atlona® Pro3 and OPUS series, HDANYWHERE MHUB systems, and NETVIO matrix switchers. Whether a project calls for an 8x8 or a 16x16, native Crestron control is now available. Janus adds further AVPro Edge coverage including the AC-Fresco-44 and MXNet platform.

Audio

StormAudio's ISP and ISP MK2 immersive audio processors (which are among the most specified processors in high-end home cinema) now have Crestron drivers via Ultamation. Meridian's 200-series network amplifiers (218, 251, 271, ID41) join the library for dealers building Meridian-based audio systems. Janus adds Stealth Acoustics amplifier drivers across four models and the Trinnov AltitudeCI, giving cinema-grade audio integration a direct path into Crestron Home OS.

Projectors and Displays

Ultamation has added BenQ driver coverage across six series — W, E, M, P, L, and the W4000i — opening up one of the most widely used projector brands in residential cinema rooms. Seura® mirror TV displays (SHD2-55, SHD2-75, UB4-85) and AdNotam TV round out the display additions, covering premium display products that increasingly appear in luxury residential projects.

Climate and HVAC

Digital Automation has built out a strong HVAC and thermostat roster: Honeywell® Lyric, T10 Pro, and T6 Pro; the Carrier® Infinity® System Control; and the Heatmiser Coolmaster Combo via Janus. Polyaire Airtouch, handled by Chowmain, adds further climate control flexibility. These additions mean dealers can bring HVAC into a Crestron-controlled environment without custom programming for the most commonly specified systems.

Access, Security, and Intercoms

ONIO Interactive has delivered a full suite of updated 2N IP intercom drivers — the IP One, IP Verso, IP Solo, IP Style, and Access Unit 2.0 — continuing to bring professional-grade video intercom integration into the Crestron Home platform. Digital Automation covers Elk M1 security panels (including a native UI driver) and the Elk E27 Z-Wave Lock, alongside the Seam Door Lock. Inner Range adds the Inception access control platform. Dahua NVR joins via Ultamation.

Shading and Lighting

Hunter Douglas® PowerView® Gen2 and Luxaflex PowerView Gen2 are now available via Ultamation drivers. Somfy coverage expands with RTS Shades via Digital Automation and Tahoma® Europe via AV Services. SilentGliss Move Hub and Rako Hub Control round out the shading and lighting additions. Additionally, Philips Hue Bridge Platform via Ultamation sits alongside Crestron's own Hue Bridge Pro driver for comprehensive Hue support.

Smart Home & IoT

Chowmain brings a broad set of smart home and IoT device drivers to the platform: Shelly Gen 2, 3, and 4 for versatile relay and automation control; TP-Link smart plugs and power strips (HS300, KP125, EP40); Big Ass Fans Haiku; Bond Bridge and Bond Bridge Pro for RF device control; Escea DF and DL Series fireplaces; KMTronic Web Relay; Denkovi SmartDen IP-16R; and Clipsal® C-Bus products. Android™ TV via Zank Remote adds streaming device control. MyQ® technology updates via IntrinsicDev brings garage and gate integration. Vestaboard Note adds a distinctive messaging display to the mix via ControlWorks.

Weather Integration

Two weather integration drivers, Ecowitt Weather Station and Wunderground Weather Integration, both via Ultamation, extend what Crestron Home OS can respond to, enabling weather-aware automations for shading, HVAC, and more.

What This Means for Residential Integrators

The scale of this driver expansion changes the conversation around what's possible on a Crestron residential project. More often than not, the device a client is asking about, whether it's a StormAudio cinema processor, a Meridian audio system, a 2N® intercom, or a Honeywell thermostat, now has a native Crestron driver built and maintained by a certified developer who knows the platform.

That translates directly to faster commissioning, fewer custom programming hours, and systems that hold up over time. The ecosystem is doing what a good ecosystem should: extending the platform's reach far beyond what any single team could build alone.
