What’s New in Crestron Residential Training for 2026

Residential smart home projects are becoming more demanding for dealers, and that’s in large part due to the industry’s success. Residential smart tech is now a “must-have” for most homeowners, and the connected home of 2026 offers more options than ever before. Today’s customers expect more customization, more control, and more seamless integration across their spaces. Those factors mean a dealer’s skill set must be absolutely current, and their technical expertise must be on point.

To support this evolution, Crestron is continuing to look for innovative ways to expand our training and creating local events that will support you.

This year we’re bringing more to you, in your local markets. We’re replacing distance with proximity, and scale with community. And above all, we’re creating more opportunities for face‑to‑face learning, technical growth, and peer‑to‑peer exchange.

This year, we’re introducing “roadshows” — events that are local, more hands‑on, and more focused on building long‑term success for our True Blue community.

More Training — Near You

To reach you in the most convenient way possible, we’re bringing more training directly to local markets. This approach creates more opportunities for face‑to‑face learning, technical growth, and peer‑to‑peer exchange.

From the brand‑new True Blue Residential Lights & Shades Roadshow to the introduction of Residential learning paths at Crestron Masters 2026, our goal is to empower the people who power the best homes in the world. We’re also updating existing offerings: The two-day in-person Crestron Technical Institute course, Crestron Home Configuration, will soon include everything you need to know about Crestron Configure Pro. (Those courses are currently taught at our Rockleigh, NJ; Cypress, CA; Plano, TX; Weybridge, UK; and Chatswood, NSW locations.)

“This year, we’ve renewed our focus on what matters most to our dealers: access, expertise, and meaningful partnership,” says Michael Short, Crestron VP of marketing operations and residential. “Our roadshows and Masters are designed to strengthen relationships and provide hands-on experiences that directly support business growth.”

A great example of that philosophy is the new series of Residential Lights & Shades Roadshow events.

Introducing the 2026 True Blue Residential Roadshow, ‘Mastering Crestron Lights & Shades’

The new Lights & Shades Roadshow is a traveling training experience designed specifically for residential dealers and technical teams. Currently booked in four U.S. cities, these immersive, high‑touch roadshows deliver full‑day, hands‑on learning with Crestron lighting and shading solutions, along with evening networking events crafted to spark conversation and build real community. “Lighting and shading continue to be essential foundations of the Crestron Home OS ecosystem, and demand for these solutions has never been higher,” says Short.

“This program ensures every dealer has the tools to succeed.”

What you’ll learn ...

  • Installing, configuring, and commissioning Crestron lighting and shading
  • Measuring spaces, designing systems, and choosing the right solutions
  • Positioning lighting and shading as a premium part of the Crestron Home OS experience

Residential Courses Arrive at Crestron Masters

For the first time, residential training is coming to Crestron’s most well-known — and popular — continuing education event: Crestron Masters.

Residential-focused courses will be offered under the Crestron Master Technology Architect (CMTA) Path, which challenges certified designers to deepen their knowledge of Crestron technologies and apply that expertise to advanced system design. Attendees will be able to “mix and match” residential and commercial sessions — tailoring their Crestron Masters experience to match the way they actually do business today.
