Crestron at the Microsoft 365 Community Conference 2026

Crestron’s relationship with Microsoft dates back years, especially when it comes to creating collaboration solutions for the modern workplace. We offer a broad range of products that are Microsoft Certified (which you can find examples of here), and Microsoft turned to us when they were building their Signature Microsoft Teams® Rooms boardroom.

The partnership continues later this month, as Crestron will present a session at the Microsoft 365 Community Conference, held in Orlando, April 21-23, 2026. It’s described as a means to “discover how to harness the power of Microsoft technology to achieve more, together.”

Microsoft elaborates:

From learning about the latest advancements in AI-driven tools and building skills you can use immediately, to connecting with Microsoft product-makers and executives, you’ll dive deep into big innovations and come home with actionable insights.

The Microsoft 365 Community Conference 2026 features three days of:

  • Inspiration from industry leaders and 200+ expert-led sessions, keynotes, workshops, and AMAs
  • Networking opportunities with professionals shaping the future of work
  • Hands-on skilling with Microsoft products that help you unlock your full potential
  • Access to the engineers who build the products you use every day

The Crestron Session

The session Crestron’s presenting, hosted by our Senior Manager of Product Marketing Cara Shannon, is titled “Building Meeting Rooms Engineered for Hybrid Collaboration.”

The details:

Modern collaboration places new demands on the meeting room. Learn what it means to move beyond simply supporting meetings to intentionally engineering spaces that make exceptional collaboration the default experience within Microsoft Teams® software environments.

Explore how meeting rooms are architected to deliver consistent, reliable experiences people trust and how those designs can be operationalized and scaled across an organization. Discover how thoughtfully engineered spaces reduce friction for users, simplify operations for IT teams, and help create environments people want to return to, while enabling collaboration that supports meaningful business outcomes.

Crestron has been focused on creating solutions that achieve just that.

Engineering a Culture of Collaboration

The products that Crestron has introduced this year to further engineer what we call a “culture of collaboration” — a state in which technology fades into the background for frictionless meeting experiences — were summed up in a recent webinar also presented by Shannon. That webinar, which first aired on March 11 and is hosted on the Microsoft 365 Community Conference News page, introduced “five innovations shaping the future of collaboration, from AI-powered deployment and purpose-built compute to intuitive interfaces, intelligent peripherals, and network-based audio.”

The Crestron Solutions

Some of the products Shannon mentions in the webinar were rolled out just before the ISE® 2026 Expo, including:

80 Series Touch Screens

The new 80-Series Touch Screens; intelligent, purpose-built user interfaces that deliver intuitive control, flexible scheduling, and enterprise-grade security across nearly every space and workflow. This next generation of Crestron touch screens brings the user a single interface for scheduling, UC control, and room automation. Another aspect of the 80 Series Touch Screens is a first for Crestron: These devices are built on the MDEP platform. As Microsoft tells us:

The Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) is an Android-based platform that enables device manufacturers and software developers to deliver innovative solutions, backed by Microsoft's reputation for security, trust, and management. Built on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), the platform is designed to be extended and customized for both hardware and software solutions.

Crestron Collab Compute

Crestron Collab Compute, a purpose-built hardware platform that powers Microsoft Teams® Rooms on Microsoft® Windows® operating systems. This isn’t a device that’s been adapted for this purpose — it was designed from the outset to deliver intelligent, scalable, and future-ready collaboration across almost any space.

The solution’s powerful enough to handle performance-critical features that require real-time responsiveness (especially for functions such as framing and speaker switching), low latency and high reliability, and require local data handling for privacy and compliance. That’s why Collab Compute is perfect for features such as Microsoft Teams Rooms Cloud IntelliFrame, “which allows online meeting attendees to see people in Microsoft Teams Rooms more clearly through the smart video feeds of in-room participants. These smart video feeds are created by zooming into the faces of the in-room participants and by eliminating distractions, thereby enhancing the hybrid meeting experience.”

The Automate VX 6.5 Multi-Camera Speaker Tracking Solution

The Automate VX 6.5 Multi-Camera Speaker Tracking Solution, a powerful firmware update that simplifies intelligent video deployments and offers greater device support. This update includes AutoMeasure, a feature that utilizes computer vision and ArUco markers to precisely detect the position and orientation of cameras and microphones, resulting in a calibrated system that delivers consistent, high-quality video performance without requiring manual measurement.

The Automate VX solution received certification for Microsoft Teams Rooms back in October 2023. As we noted then: “This means that the Automate VX solution is part of a fairly elite class of products. Microsoft has high standards for the partners that they choose — they’re stringent about the quality of the image that comes through the Microsoft Teams experience and the compatibility of the systems.”

DM NAX Intelligent Audio Processing Platform

The DM NAX® Intelligent Audio Processing Platform, a scalable platform built with an ecosystem of mic pods, speakers, and AES-67 devices, delivering AI-ready audio that scales from huddle rooms to high-impact spaces. Features include Direction of Arrival Audio (a beamforming function that tracks a speaker’s location), advanced DSP, noise reduction, and auto-mixing.

The solution is built for quick deployment that can go “live” on an Audio-over-IP system right out of the box. To that end, DM NAX Intelligent Audio uses PoE and AES-67 compatibility to connect the AP-100, MIC-SPK Pods, and third-party peripherals. A single cable provides both power and network connection, and auto-discovery further simplifies deployment. Once it’s on the network, users can immediately take advantage of the system's features, and it’s specifically designed to integrate with Microsoft® Copilot software, delivering speaker tracking, crystal-clear audio, and AI summarizations and transcriptions.

The 1 Beyond i12D Camera

The 1 Beyond i12D Camera, an intelligent PTZ camera with built-in speaker tracking, delivering advanced video features like group framing and intelligent switching in a single, elegant device. These 4K cameras feature built-in microphones and Visual AI for speaker tracking, all in a single, streamlined device that enhances everyday meeting rooms by providing high-quality, intelligent video with its powerful three-lens array. The 1 Beyond i12D camera’s 4K PTZ lenses and wide-angle lens deliver crisp speaker close-ups and full-room framing — coupled with the intelligent switching the 1 Beyond line is known for — creates a polished, immersive experience that mirrors in-room conversation.

These cameras feature Crestron’s attention to detail, including a lightbar on the front of the camera that dynamically changes color and length based on the camera’s current mode. Crestron 1 Beyond cameras also offer optical zoom — images aren’t digitally “blown up,” which can lead to a diminished, “pixelated” look for the remote viewer. It’s another solution that works brilliantly with the Microsoft Teams Rooms platform.

“Joining the team at Microsoft for this event is another example of the work we’ve been doing together over the years,” says Joel Mulpeter, senior director of product marketing at Crestron. “One of our goals is to provide Crestron solutions that elevate Microsoft Teams Rooms software with intelligent collaboration solutions that deliver seamless content sharing, intuitive control, and exceptional audio-visual experiences.”
