Quick Courses

Crestron CTI training is pleased to announce Quick Courses online. These new quick courses allow dealers to obtain vital information on a timely basis, but without investing large amounts of time.

CTI Quick Course subjects are designed to answer many of the questions you have today about installing and programming systems, but do so in just minutes. Each Quick Course will run between 5 min to 90 min and provide you the tools needed to pause, fast forward and rewind the material so you can view it as often as you like.

Modifying a Prodigy™ Project in SystemBuilder™

Prodigy Composer is always the best way to configure a Prodigy System, but if your Prodigy system needs to be modified with things such as customized logic, revised interface pages, or events based on time of day or an astronomical clock, your Prodigy project can be opened modified using the powerful and easy to use tools of Crestron SystemBuilder software. This short movie will guide you through examples of typical modifications you can make to your Prodigy project using SystemBuilder, including:

  • Adding new devices from the Library
  • Adding interfaces from the Library
  • Using global expressions, global presets, the scheduler and astronomical clock, and system functions
  • Creating a start-up sequence for devices, or programmed lighting control
  • When to use various button models
  • Modifying the interface pages using VT Pro-e®

Prodigy Composer - Pt 2: Hardware Configuration and Uploading Your System

After configuring your system, the Finish step guides you through uploading the project to your processor and interfaces. Prodigy Composer is integrated with the Network Setup Wizard, a simple to use wizard that automatically configures the network settings of your system. Once the network is configured, Prodigy Composer will automatically upload your project. This short movie will guide you through the Finish step, including:

  • Connecting hardware to the network
  • Running the Network Setup Wizard
  • Acquiring wireless devices to the wireless gateway
  • Building and uploading the project to your processor and interfaces

Prodigy Composer - Pt 1: Configuring your System

Prodigy Composer is a simple to use wizard for setting up and configuring a Prodigy home theater and multi-zone audio distribution system by Crestron. This short movie will guide you through the steps for selecting hardware and configuring your system, including:

  • How to populate your system and name rooms, select an AV receiver, and choose a display
  • Add Crestron sources like the P-IDOC-V
  • Add non-Crestron sources like SAT or CBL tuners, BluRay players, game consoles, etc.
  • Add wireless lighting and climate control

DigitalMedia™ Hardware Configuration and Installation Tutorial

There's no question that the digital age is here today. Analog television is off the air; practically every device that plugs into a display has an HDMI port; the latest MacBooks only provide DisplayPort outputs; laptops now include built-in Blu-ray players; and the latest video conferencing systems feature HDMI/DVI outputs exclusively. The products you're using now won't work for much longer. Crestron DigitalMedia (DM) is the only solution that answers the challenges of tomorrow - today.

Adagio® System Hardware Configuration

A typical Adagio home theater and audio distribution system consists of various interfaces, controllers, and sources. In addition, you can add integrated lighting and environmental control. The basic hardware configuration should be completed before configuring your system with Adagio Composer. This short demo will show you how to connect, setup, and configure the various Ethernet and Cresnet® control and interface devices that are part of a typical Adagio system, including:

  • Connecting the system components via Ethernet and Cresnet
  • Obtaining an IP address for the AMS processor

Introduction to the CEN-ISERVER

The iServer from Crestron provides a very practical and cost-effective network audio server solution utilizing the popular Apple iPod® as its engine. Designed for shelf or rack mount installation, the Crestron iServer™ provides a permanent housing for the iPod, adding high-speed Ethernet connectivity to enable full integration with a Crestron control system while still allowing syncing with iTunes software.

Adagio Composer

Adagio Composer is a simple to use wizard for setting up and configuring an Adagio home theater and audio distribution system by Crestron. This simple to use software is explained in the step by step 25 min narrated movie where you will learn the following:

This 12 minute Quick Movie gives an overview of the powerful features and components of Crestron's e-Control 2, a broad-based technology that integrates Crestron audio/visual control into Ethernet/IP networks. By using Ethernet in your control applications, you gain the ability to harness the speed and flexibility of the Internet to access, analyze, and diagnose control system functions.

How To Design A Dimming System

This 20 minute quick course reviews the process and steps involved in designing a lighting control and dimming system. It teaches you how to recognize and promote an opportunity for lighting control and how make design selections based on convenience, cost considerations, and stage of construction. Starting with the electrical drawings and fixture layouts of a conventionally wired lighting system, this course overviews how to systematically redesign it into a dimming control system using both wall box and centralized solutions.
