DigitalMedia 8G+™ Input Card for DM® Switchers
Provides a single DM 8G+ or HDBaseT input for any DigitalMedia Switcher with modular plug-in input card slots.
The DMC-C is an input card for a Crestron® DigitalMedia Switcher, providing one DM 8G+ input. The DM 8G+ input enables the connection of a DM 8G+ Transmitter, or the output of another DM® switcher. Just one 8-conductor twisted-pair cable is required, supporting distances up to 330 feet (100 m) using CAT5e or Crestron DigitalMedia 8G Cable.
In addition to DM 8G+, the DMC-C is also compatible with HDBaseT specifications, allowing it to be connected directly to any HDBaseT compliant source.
Power over DM (PoDM) and Power over HDBaseT (PoH) are available from the DM IN port of the DMC-C card to power a compatible DM 8G+ transmitter or HDBaseT device. To enable PoDM or PoH, simply connect a PoE source (Crestron PWE-4803RU, CEN-SW-POE-5, CEN-SWPOE-16, CEN-SWPOE-24, or equivalent) to the DMC-C's POE IN port.
In addition to the DM 8G+ input, the DMC-C also includes HDMI® and stereo analog audio outputs. The HDMI output can be used to pass the input signal through to a local audio processor or video monitor, or to feed a second DM switcher for output expansion purposes. The analog audio output, which features programmable volume control, breaks out the stereo audio signal from the DM 8G+ input and passes it through to feed a multi-room audio distribution system.
NOTE: For applications requiring the simultaneous distribution of surround sound and 2-channel audio signals, use model DMC-C-DSP.
The DMC-C may also be used with the DMCI DigitalMedia Card Interface to provide a DM 8G+ receiver solution that's perfect for installation in an equipment rack or AV cart, or as a portable display interface. As a DM 8G+ receiver, and as a DM switcher input card, the DMC-C enables EDID signal detection and format management, CEC device control, and audio breakaway.
