DGE-2
Digital Graphics Engine
A graphics engine for Crestron V-Panel, the DGE-2 supports advanced touchpanel performance, with dual video windows and extensive connectivity for high-definition digital and analog sources.
Note: The availability of this future product can be found on the Models & Accessories tab.
Designed for use with a Crestron® V-Panel Touchpanel Display, the Digital Graphics Engine (DGE) allows for a very streamlined touchpanel installation by placing the bulk of the electronics at the central equipment location. Mounted within an equipment rack, the DGE connects directly to the head end AV sources, switchers, and control network, while the V-Panel display can be up to 200 feet away with just a single cable between them*.
The DGE-2 model features 24-bit Isys i/O® graphics, with dual-window high-definition video and computer display, HDCP support, embedded PC applications and Web browsing, Crestron IP Intercom, streaming audio and video, and MediaMarker real-time annotation. Connectivity includes (2) HDMI® inputs, (2) RGB/VGA inputs, (2) multi-format video inputs, balanced stereo audio in/out, Crestron Home® CAT5 Balanced Audio, and high-speed Ethernet. It also includes HDMI and DigitalMedia outputs.
Embedded PC
The DGE-2's embedded PC engine combines rock solid touchpanel graphics performance with built-in Windows Media® Player and RealPlayer®, Internet Explorer, Adobe® Acrobat® Reader, and Microsoft® Word, Excel, and PowerPoint® document viewers. While simultaneously controlling the home, boardroom, or lecture hall, the DGE-2 provides everything needed for enjoying online music and movies, viewing Web pages and accessing most types of digital media without necessitating a separate computer. In addition, VNC Viewer support delivers enhanced cross-platform interaction with computers over the network or Internet, allowing remote access and control of desktop applications to unleash all kinds of new presentation and system integration possibilities.
Dual-Window HD Video and RGB
The DGE-2 can simultaneously generate two fully-scalable, full-motion video windows, each supporting standard video, HDTV, and high-resolution RGB signals from external AV and computer sources. Input connections include two HDMI (supporting HDMI, DVI†, and DisplayPort Multimode†), two analog RGB, and two multi-format analog video (supporting composite, S-Video, and component HD). Outputs include DigitalMedia (DM), which feeds the V-Panel display, plus HDMI for distribution to additional displays devices.
HDCP Support
Industry-leading support for HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) ensures seamless compatibility with content-protected DVD, Blu-ray Disc, digital HDTV, and multimedia computer sources.
Streaming Video
The DGE-2 supports streaming video in a variety of formats, enabling access to everything from online streaming media to live Web security cameras and servers like the Crestron CEN-NVS100.
Versatile Audio
Audio signals from the internal PC and external AV sources are mixed and routed to the V-Panel display via the DigitalMedia (DM) output. HDMI and balanced analog outputs are also provided for connection to Adagio® and other audio distribution systems, allowing music and other audio to be shared with listeners throughout the home, office, or auditorium. In addition, customized WAV files can be loaded on the DGE-2 to add dimension to the touchscreen graphics with personalized sounds, button feedback, and voice prompts. The microphone signal from the V-Panel display is available within the DGE-2 to support IP intercom, and can also be routed to the analog outputs to support wired intercom as part of a complete Crestron Home audio distribution system.
IP Intercom
The DGE-2 supports 2-way intercom over Ethernet or dedicated wiring. Wired intercom is facilitated through a single CAT5 audio connection to a C2N-IADS30X24 or any other Crestron Home CAT5 switcher or processor. Crestron IP intercom enables direct panel-to-panel intercom and monitoring right over the LAN without requiring any special wiring.
Presentation Output
Through its HDMI output, the DGE-2 allows the V-Panel screen image to be sent to additional displays, allowing videos, PowerPoint presentations, annotation, and other on-screen media to be shared with a live audience.
MediaMarker Annotation
Whether conducting a high-level boardroom meeting, training seminar, or watching sports in your home theater, annotation helps put the fine point on any presentation. Native to the DGE-2, MediaMarker annotation provides the ability to illustrate your thoughts on-the-fly, letting you draw and write over high-definition video and computer images, and sketch out ideas on a whiteboard screen, without leaving the podium or your favorite chair while other viewers watch on the big screen.
* For wiring between the DGE and V-Panel, use DM-CBL DigitalMedia Cable. The maximum allowable cable length is 200 ft (60 m).
† HDMI requires an appropriate adapter or interface cable to accommodate a DVI or DisplayPort Multimode signal. CBL-HD-DVI and CBL-DP-HD interface cables available separately.
‡ Consult Crestron for a current list of compatible devices and embedded applications. To ensure reliable performance, new device drivers and applications are available only from Crestron through firmware updates.
