Crestron Shading Solutions

Our integrated lighting control solutions include motorized shades - adding beauty, convenience, and comfort throughout the home. Featuring exclusive Quiet Motor Technology™, Crestron shades provide silent operation and convenient, one-touch control. What makes Digital QMT™, our exclusive motor technology, so unique is the brushless motor design. Brushes in DC motors wear over time, causing the motor to fail. Our new brushless motor provides greater reliability, much longer life, and ultra-quiet operation. Even better, automated shades lower utility bills and increase the home's value and security.

1550 cycles represents approximately 1 year of use

Beauty That Lasts

Crestron lighting control and motorized shading solutions deliver precise, quiet, one-touch control of electric and natural light for years. Our motors are subjected to rigorous testing at the maximum torque rating of 6Nm. We meticulously monitor speed, torque, current, voltage, position and noise to ensure our motors maintain their specs. Check out our live shade cycle demo located at the Crestron Technical Institute in Rockleigh, NJ.

They can also be combined with our advanced entertainment, climate, and security controls, so you can control everything in your home anytime, anywhere, from elegant touch screens or your favorite smart devices.

Roman Shades

Roman shades serve more than just the functional purpose of reducing or blocking out sunlight. The bold look of Roman shades can make them a focal point of a room. Unlike typical Roman shades, which are raised and lowered with lifting cords, Crestron Roman Shade Systems offer quiet, super-smooth one-touch control from a wall-mounted interactive keypad, touch screen, or your favorite Apple® or Android® device.

You decide what your Roman shades look like and we make them work beautifully. There are three ways to order Roman Shades from Crestron:

  1. Choose from one of our fabric options, select the style, and Crestron will build and deliver the complete Roman Shade.
  2. Purchase the appropriate Crestron roller shade and give it to a local workroom to fabricate the final Roman shade with the preferred fabric.
  3. Source your own fabric and send it to Crestron for fabrication under our Customer's Own Material (COM) program.

Classic Roman Shades:
A traditional, clean design where each pleat has a support rod to fold neatly and lie flat when raised and lowered.

Hobbled Roman Shades:
Fuller in body, it keeps its distinctive folds even when lowered. Support rods are concealed in pockets at the back of each pleat.

Relaxed Roman Shades:
A soft, flowing shade that lies flat when lowered but always has a gentle bottom curve.

London Roman Shades:
A gentle curved bottom, similar to a Relaxed Roman, with more decorative folds on each side.

Knife Pleat Roman Shades:
Dowels in pockets on the back of the shade form decorative seams on the front.

Ribbed Pleat Roman Shades:
A reverse knife pleat style with the dowel pockets on the front of the shade to accent each pleat.

Skylight Shades

Crestron Skylight Shading Systems decrease glare and provide year-round energy efficiency, reducing heat gain in the summer and heat loss in the winter. The innovative tensioning system adjusts automatically to keep shades taut across longer spans and operating smoothly in windows and skylights that are on an incline, or require a bottom-up shade.

The perfect solution for skylights, inclined windows, and bottom-up shades

  • Flexible mounting options: outside, inside, and recessed
  • Available in sizes up to 70 square feet
  • Select from skylight-compatible fabrics in our Heritage roller shade fabrics

Power

Shade motors require power; only Crestron offers a new Intelligent Power Supply, delivering several distinct advantages for shading professionals. It can power up to ten motorized shades, each with its own fuse. The power supply is designed to work with all Crestron shade motors and includes built-in diagnostics that make it simple for shading professionals to identify broken wires, shorts, and blown fuses.

  • The integrated five-segment Cresnet® hub provides an isolated control network for each pair of shades, therefore limiting the impact of any wiring faults.
  • The power supply ships ready to mount on the wall or pre-installed in a 1x1 CAEN enclosure for easy, clean installation.
  • The convenient on-board push-button controls make it simpler for an installer or technician to test for proper operation prior to system commissioning.

Residential Shade and Lighting Control

Crestron Lighting Solutions

Crestron lighting controls help rooms look their best, while improving the comfort and enjoyment of occupants. Our solutions offer customizable control of all your lights, plus control of everything else in your home at the touch of a button.

Imagine simplified controls that allow you to coordinate your lighting needs with other systems in your home. With the touch of one "scene" button, everything is set to exactly as you like. The “Wake” scene raises the automated shades, turns on the lights, and adjusts the temperature to your preferred setting. Want to watch a movie with the family? The "Showtime" scene closes the shades, dims the lights, and starts your media system. “Good Night” sets everything for a great night sleep. With Crestron controls you can customize an unlimited number of scenes to match your lifestyle.

Crestron offers comprehensive lighting control solutions for any project—from new construction, to major renovations, to minor retrofits. We offer both wired and wireless control solutions that integrate with other systems, allowing virtually unlimited configuration, expansion, and flexibility. Check out what Crestron lighting solutions can do for you.

Wireless Lighting

Crestron wireless dimmers make it easy to enhance your lighting controls without any rewiring/remodeling and without compromising reliability. They install like ordinary wired dimmers, allowing you to set "scenes" on a keypad and control lights using the wires already in your walls. The difference is, you can now also adjust your lights from your favorite mobile device or Crestron touch screen using wireless control. Crestron offers easy-to-install solutions for automating and controlling LEDs, track lighting, incandescent, floor/table lamps, sconces, spotlights, and even outdoor lighting...wirelessly.

Wireless Architecture

infiNET EX® Communication

Our wireless communication is built on our powerful, award-winning Crestron infiNET EX® technology. Designed for ultra-reliable performance, Crestron infiNET EX networks function flawlessly in any setting—even densely populated urban areas. Unlike Wi-Fi®, where many devices access one signal within range, infiNET EX creates a mesh network whereby each device on the network functions as an expander, passing command signals through to every other infiNET EX device within range (approximately 150 feet). Conventional wireless control solutions are often plagued by inconsistent performance due to potential interference with the sole signal. The infiNET EX mesh network makes the delivery of control commands extremely reliable, because if one path fails to deliver the signal, others will succeed.

Replay animation

Each device added to an infiNET EX network, therefore, makes the network stronger and more robust. On the contrary, a Fully-Integrated Classroom Systems network becomes slower and more brittle with each device added.

Neighboring Fully-Integrated Classroom Systems networks compete for bandwidth in a limited frequency range, causing data to be delayed or lost in dense urban environments. infiNET EX communicates on a different frequency, and infiNET EX devices repeat messages only from within their own network. The result is a solid, reliable wireless control solution, no matter what's happening in the outside world.

System Example

Below is an example of a completely wireless Crestron home control system. There are three rooms with easy remote control of lighting and entertainment. An outdoor area provides TV and pool controls. The system even provides control of the door lock and garage door, so you know your home is secure anytime, day or night.

Wired or Centralized Lighting

Designing your lighting control system when in the new construction phase makes it even easier to get the most control with the least visual impact on the room's décor. Crestron offers centralized lighting systems that allow you to hide all the dimming modules in a cabinet somewhere out of the way. Now banks of switches become single, elegant keypads or sleek touch screens. Crestron offers centralized solutions for automating and controlling LEDs, track lighting, incandescent, floor/table lamps, sconces, spotlights, and even outdoor lighting for your home.

Centralized Architecture

Shouldn't you be able to live in a modern home without the techno-clutter? Centralized systems are a favorite for designers and architects who want to discreetly integrate the latest technologies with your home. Centralized lighting systems allow you to remotely locate all of the dimmers, or dimming modules, in a cabinet, out of site — usually in an equipment closet somewhere in the basement, attic, or garage. Crestron can help you remotely locate almost any home system elegantly, without losing control.

System Example

Below is an example of a wired Crestron home control system. There are three rooms with easy remote control of lighting and entertainment. An outdoor area provides TV and pool controls. The system even provides control of the door lock and garage door, so you know your home is secure anytime, day or night.

Complete Energy Solutions

Crestron offers a complete integrated solution to monitor, measure, and manage the environmental systems in your home, including lights, thermostats, shades, and anything else that affects your surroundings.

Environmental Controls

Crestron energy solutions can help you save big on energy costs—customers regularly report savings of 15% or more. Check out what each of our three types of energy control can do for you.

Monitor
Measure
Manage

Monitor

Crestron helps you observe, detect, and stay in tune with environmental changes to any of your spaces from anywhere. System adjustments are made automatically according to your instructions.

  • Thermostats monitor temperature and humidity readings and adjust climate to maintain your preferred levels.
  • Occupancy sensors detect your presence to activate your preferences when you're in the room and save energy when you're not.
  • Photo sensors monitor natural light levels in the room, so your shades lower to reduce solar heat gain and to protect artwork and furnishings from UV rays on sunny days.

Measure

Crestron can measure the total energy usage of your home to help you understand where your home uses the most energy and identify opportunities to save. You can also use this information to learn about problems with your home before they become serious. For example, if a sump pump has stopped operating, the lack of current draw is a telltale sign. Crestron can then send you a notification.

Manage

Crestron's revolutionary Fusion Energy Management software can use monitoring and measuring devices to collect and consolidate your home's data and present you with real-time practical information. How much solar energy are you utilizing? When are your peak hours of power consumption? How much money are you saving by dimming all your lights 20%? All this can be calculated for you instantly by hour, day, week, month, and year.

Thermostats

Crestron thermostats connect to the wiring of conventional thermostats, bringing your climate control onto your home automation platform. Simply replace any standard thermostat with a Crestron thermostat or replace your thermostats with a discreet sensor and remotely locate the Crestron thermostats out of sight.

Sensors

Automation of lighting, temperature, and shades in response to changing conditions in a room is essential to a complete energy management solution. It provides the ultimate in convenience and comfort, and makes your environment more enjoyable – automatically. Crestron Green Light® Occupancy Sensors detect when someone is in the room. Lights are automatically turned off when they're not needed. Crestron Green Light Photocell Sensors, integrated with Crestron communicating thermostats, enable daylight harvesting. Shades, lighting, and climate are automatically adjusted according to room temperature and available natural light.

Power Metering

Measure and track actual energy consumption by attaching Crestron power meters to your incoming electrical service circuits. The meters work in unison with the Crestron current transformers to provide more detailed usage by tracking individual branch circuits in a home. This information can then be displayed on a touch screen, mobile device, or computer.

The Lack of Power Consumption

Sometimes it's more important to know where your energy is not going. For example, when pumps for pools and irrigation systems stop running, you come home to a green pool and a brown yard. With Crestron, you can monitor power usage on specific circuits that control vital home systems. If actual energy usage points to a malfunction, the Crestron system can automatically notify you before small problems turn into big problems.

Additionally, power-metering products interface with Crestron Fusion software to provide reports with greater detail showing total building consumption.
