Crestron is leading the way in 4K. Only DigitalMedia™ delivers an end-to-end 4K certified distribution solution right now. In fact, DigitalMedia was built to handle 4K since our very first 8X8 switcher.

What is Crestron DigitalMedia?
From boardrooms and conference rooms to classrooms, lobbies, and homes, you want to display the latest high-definition and 4K sources in their full glory. You want to integrate digital and analog AV signals together with streaming, all on one platform. And you want it to work flawlessly every time. That's what you get with DigitalMedia (DM®).

DM 3.0: setting the digital standard for every room. Again.
The DM 3.0 family, the latest generation of DM, continues to expand with more standard-setting 4K products. No other solution can compete with the complete package you get with DM 3.0: the most innovative products, an installed base of millions of HDMI® and HDBaseT®ports, the most comprehensive training, and award-winning service and support, including our new live online assistance. DM continues to evolve, innovation after innovation.

The only fully-engineered solution
DigitalMedia is the only field-proven, end-to-end 4K certified solution, engineered to manage and distribute digital AV and control signals. Whether you have one room or a thousand, DM delivers pure high-definition 1080p, ultra high-definition 4K, and everything in between, to every display throughout your organization or home.

DM utilizes a flexible, scalable architecture. It can accept analog, digital, and control signals such as advanced EDID, CEC, and USB and then transmit them over HDMI®, HDBaseT®, CAT5e, multimode fiber, single-mode fiber, and now H.264 streaming video over the network. By integrating streaming on the same reliable platform, DigitalMedia delivers the best of both worlds — the power of the network for content delivery to mobile devices and destinations around the world, and the reliability of point-to-point links for delivery within the room.

Commitment to innovation
To remain the industry standard you have to keep raising the bar. DigitalMedia has led the way in HD AV distribution since we pioneered the technology in 2005 and propelled our industry into the digital age. We've been quick to embrace emerging technologies such as 4K Ultra HD and incorporate them in DM ever since.

In 2008, while the rest of the industry debated the “Analog Sunset," DM was the first to transmit HDMI long distance and reliably distribute HDCP protected content. In 2010, DM was the first to adopt HDBaseT technology for AV distribution — and it's still the only end-to-end system with transmitters, switchers, and receivers certified by the HDBaseT Alliance. Along the way DM was the first to transmit over fiber and manage CEC. Today, only with DM can you wirelessly present HD content, transmit 4K, and natively stream AV. As always, DM engineers are developing solutions for emerging technologies that others have yet to even think about.

Leading the way in 4K
To help facilitate a smooth transition to 4K and ensure the continued success of AV systems integrators, Crestron introduced its 4K Certification program. Under this industry-first program, manufacturers can submit their 4K sources and displays to Crestron to ensure that they:

  • Deliver true 10 Gbit/s data rates to get the signal to its destination
  • Interface with DigitalMedia to handle cable lengths found in integrated AV systems
  • Work with other 4K products in a DigitalMedia system

Making connections, worldwide
DM offers the widest range of connectivity and switching options in the industry. It's a complete line of 4K-compatible products: switchers, transmitters, receivers, extenders, wall plates, input and output cards, and scalers, plus DM Ultra Cable.
