Crestron Leads Commissioning 101 Workshop at LightFair 2008
Workshop gives lighting designers and engineers techniques and procedures for commissioning lighting control systems
Crestron today announced that it will lead the Commissioning 101 class at Lightfair International 2008 in Las Vegas. Commissioning 101 is an entirely new course designed for engineers, lighting designers, contractors and other manufacturers and initiated by the LightFair Conference Advisory Committee to meet the requests of attendees for a course strictly devoted to commissioning lighting controls. The session provides a definitive overview of the commissioning process and the benefits of commissioning, while also covering specific topics such as functional and operational testing procedures for occupancy sensors, time schedulers and daylighting controls.
Discussion will also focus on the importance of a commissioning plan as a tool for prescribing when to commission lighting controls, who does the work, and how to specify the procedures that will ensure optimum system performance. A sample commissioning plan documentation will be included as part of the presentation materials.
The workshop will be lead by Jim McGrath, Manager of Systems Engineering for Lighting Controls, Crestron. McGrath's expansive knowledge of the lighting Industry is a result of his 25 years of experience working with lighting professionals and specifying lighting controls. McGrath is member of various industry organizations and has presented and trained for CEDIA, ICIA and InfoComm. McGrath most recently served as Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Home Lighting Control Alliance.
The workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 27th, from 2PM - 5PM. Space in the workshop is limited and interested parties should register now
