Inside Stories focuses on specific vertical markets such as Education, Government & Military, Residential, and Corporate to provide relevant application stories for dealers and end users. The stories below feature practical summaries, descriptions and photos of real installations.

Testbed Emergency Operations Center (EOC Facility)
Picatinny Arsenal, NJ
The new EOC Facility at Picatinny Arsenal was designed to test military systems and examine how they can be transitioned to support public safety efforts. They also model and simulate systems and applications, and are poised to serve as a backup EOC for partnering agencies. Crestron systems control lighting, HVAC, audio and video distribution, CCTV and presentation cameras, and video teleconferencing (VTC) in the 7000+ sq. ft. facility.

For the new Interactive Technology Center located in the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, Florida, Walthall & Associates standardized on a Crestron QuickMedia control solution for the prototype classroom that will ultimately serve as the standard room configuration for all of the classrooms.

Escambia County Emergency Operations Center
Escambia, FL
The Escambia County Emergency Operations center is used as a central command station to manage and respond to major events such as hurricanes. The new state-of-the-art system enables the EOC to view many sources of information, control the sources, and disseminate more information to the various agencies faster an easier than their previous information system. A Crestron UPX-2 is used for viewing maps and allowing presenters to annotate over any computer or video signal in real-time and in high-resolution.

NYPD Emergency Operations Center
New York, NY
The Emergency Operation Center in New York City's Police Headquarters, served as the central monitoring location for security during the 2004 Republican National Convention. The room is equipped with state-of-the-art computer, communications, and dispatch equipment, and live video feeds from 86 cameras, including 4 helicopter feeds and 200 D.O.T cameras via RF - all presented in 96 different display configurations and controlled by Crestron. Excel Media along with the NYPD upgraded the facility for the high profile and critical event in just two short weeks.
