When it was time for Booz Allen Hamilton, a global technology consulting firm with a very high-profile client base, to upgrade the Newman Auditorium, its primary meeting space, the firm turned to Crestron. The newly renovated auditorium control room doubled the number of tech stations, which includes Crestron PTZ-camera controllers and TPS-6000 touchpanels. The auditorium features a Crestron TPS-2000 for room control, a UPX-2 Universal Presentation System in the lectern and STX-1700 wireless touchpanels for clients.

Barkley is the largest employee-owned advertising agency in the United States. In the competitive world of advertising, agencies get only one opportunity to impress prospective clients. When Barkley gutted and renovated its new headquarters building in downtown Kansas City, MO, they wanted to add a multi-use space that served as a theatre and presentation room to present their creative ideas to clients. Shawnee Mission, KS-based integrator SKC customized a solution featuring a Crestron control system using both Crestron Isys 17-inch and 10-inch touchpanels for maximum control and flexibility in this state-of-the-art 50-seat corporate theater.

National Association of Realtors

The new headquarters for the National Association of Realtors (NAR) was awarded the Silver Certificate from the LEED Green Building Rating Board. Avitecture installed the AV and control system, which was a challenge because the entire exterior of the building is glass and the structure comes to a point at one end. Crestron connected rooms include the boardroom, VTC room, event rooms and the IT server room. A combination of both wired and wireless solutions was implemented to control all the AV and VTC cameras. The "need help" button programming into the Crestron touchpanels communicates with RoomView software for remote help desk and asset management capabilities.

McCarter & English is a New York law firm that wanted to create a showpiece conference room on its main floor, which is the 27th floor of a Park Avenue high-rise. VisionPoint recommended Crestron as the integration technology for the system. CP2E Ethernet control systems enable every room to be connected to the firm's internal network, and to monitor manage those spaces with RoomView software. TPMC-10 WiFi touchpanel and QuickMedia FlipTop touchpanel serve as interfaces in the conference room. The 33rd floor of the same building uses QuickMedia products throughout, including a QM switcher, amplifier and processor.

The prestigious Texas-based legal firm of Thompson & Knight, LLP (T&K), with offices in Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston and Monterrey, Mexico, realized that problems with communications between the 700 employees of the firm was becoming a severe detriment to their ability to conduct business in a timely and efficient fashion. To accomplish remote management of their systems, ASC Companies of Dallas is implementing Crestron's new e-Control2 technology to remotely take control of the rooms from anywhere on T&K's network.

Southwest Airlines turned to The Whitlock Group to upgrade its corporate headquarters. Turning away from the legacy AMX system, Southwest switched to an integrated Crestron solution. Freedom Hall, the main auditorium that is used for important live meetings, which are also streamed and recorded, features a state-of-the-art technology and control. Crestron automatically turns microphones on and positions cameras toward the speaker. There are three points of control, including the STX-1700C, the UPX-2 in the lectern and the TPS-6000 in the control room.

The team's 6,000-square-foot high-tech garage is located on an amateur race track at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois, and when it comes to race entertainment and monitoring, it's second to none. The facility features a 55-inch plasma screen, wall-mounted speakers, four-inch LCD Touchpanels throughout, Adagio audio distribution and ten camera presets to monitor the action on the racetrack so no one misses a minute of the action.

Major Facelift for NTV

Nissan Motor Corporation, headquartered in Los Angeles, recently updated its internal Nissan Television (NTV) system, with a complete turnkey package upgrade provided by Los Angeles-based Sound Solutions. Nissan uses the NTV system to communicate company-wide information. Sound Solutions provided three alternate methods of control USING Crestron Pro2 control systems, Isys touchpanels and Crestron e-Control for access directly via TCP/IP over Ethernet from anywhere on the campus.

Cisco has ten custom vans built as a powerful new marketing tool, and are traveling across the U.S. and Canada. These "Networks On Wheels" are used to provide compelling and educational live demos at customer sites. Crestron systems enable control of the van's AV system, using a CP2E controller and keypads. The NOW vans are so successful that Cisco is planning to roll them out in India and Japan, and throughout Europe and Asia.

Compuware, a global IT management and software firm, recently moved into its new 16-story, $400 million world headquarters in downtown Detroit. The building and technology design needed to be flexible anticipating that the layout and use of various areas would constantly evolve and change over the years. The facility comprises 60,000 square feet of retail space on the first floor, a three-story atrium fed by a 14-floor waterfall, a fitness center that includes a basketball court and running track, a day care center, a dining area, 12-story parking garage, plus 10 additional floors of open office space, executive offices, 50 conference rooms, five training rooms and an auditorium.

Novartis moved its its global drug discovery and research operations to Cambridge, establishing new laboratory and collaborative teaching spaces for over a thousand research scientists. The new facilities include a six-story 480,000 square foot main building with 30 conference rooms and six break areas and a 20,000 square foot amenities building with a 200-seat auditorium in the basement. RoomView™ software operating via e-Control over the complex’s network, provides remote monitoring and helpdesk capabilities. RoomView, in conjunction with Polycom, allows remote control of live videoconferencing meetings.

Presentation Systems promote growth at American Healthways. Like any company contemplating a new AV system and system control, American Healthways was looking for specific functionalities coupled with operational ease. The result is a system comprised of four separate but linked systems, corresponding roughly to four areas of a 27,000 square-foot corporate suite based around a Crestron MP2E master controller operating over the company's LAN. System functions are all accessed via Crestron's e-Control and computers in each area running custom software. Crestron STX-1700C wireless, 2-way handheld touchpanels allow remote control in rooms throughout the facility's conference center.
