This gorgeous Telluride House sits high in the Rocky Mountains nestled among the ski lifts. This home includes a million dollar home theater, 155 keypads; 44 touchpanels; nearly 100 dimmer modules; 11 infiNET dimmers; HVAC, shades, twelve audio and video systems (11 with surround sound), video intercom system including PTZ cameras providing views of mountains and ski runs. A TPS-6000, utilizing a "Touch the PC" feature, controls the pinsetter scoring computer in the bowling alley, as well as the AV system, Quad Force lights, Grove Wheel lights, strobe lights and fog machine.

The owner of this 25,000 square foot home decided it was finally time to bring the historic property into the 21st Century. The owner wanted the ultimate gaming and entertainment experience on or off the basketball court, which they also have in their home, and they got it. Two top-floor units were combined to form this penthouse with views of Chicago skyline. Crestron automates lighting, audio, video, HVAC, security, phone system and computers. The owners are art collectors and film enthusiasts. Custom lighting scenes were developed to enhance viewing of paintings and sculptures. Space was limited so the equipment racks were located in the base of the millwork in the media room. The media room features a high-definition plasma, and also doubles as a home theater with a tension screen that descends from the millwork with the touch of a button.

Originally built in the 1800s, two-thirds of the original structure was restored and renovated, and an additional 5,000 square feet was constructed. The 200-year-old house was transformed into a fully integrated modern home while preserving the original plaster walls, extensive woodwork and hardwood floors. Crestron controls the audio and video, HVAC, lighting and impressive shade control including a "wall of windows."

The home includes 32 audio zones, 16 high-def video zones, 14 HVAC zones, lighting system with more than 200 loads that operates independently and is fully integrated with the security system with features more than 200 sensor points, and the water re-circulation systems. More than 300 learnable-buttons allow the homeowner to adjust and save lighting scenes without requiring program changes. The HVAC system offers custom features such as nine adjustable scheduled events per thermostat.

This project required 5 CAEN cabinets, 65 dimmer modules and 67 keypads. The lack of architectural documentation and constantly changing lighting counts kept them on their toes, but they made good use of our D3 Pro software, which helped with the wiring and planning.

This dealer is certainly one of our best partners and most loyal supporters. This year, they worked on a project in which the architect would only approve Lutron keypads, but the dealer wanted to use Crestron lighting. Rather than lose the job or hand over all the lighting to Lutron, they used 14 CNPI interfaces mounted in a CAEN enclosure and modified all the Lutron keypads with quick-connect interface cables. All the lighting and exhaust fans were then controlled by 3 Crestron cabinets; the architect was happy and the dealer went the extra mile to stand by Crestron.
